Sleeping Princess

Sleeping Princess

Sleeping Princess

In her ivory tower she waits,
for a prince to storm the castle gates.

In the tower she’s deep in sleep,
a single tear lays on her cheek.

Many years have come and gone,
still in the castle she is alone.

Although a dragon that is fierce and strong,
has been there for just as long

This fierce dragon she has not seen,
as deep in sleep she has always been.

To rescue the princess so sweet and pure,
to slay the dragon is what they must do.

Then one day a gallus knight,
The fiery dragon he decides to fight.

He storms upon the castle gates,
on the steps the dragon waits.

The fearless knight gave his all,
till he seen the dragon fall.

Up to the tower he ran with haste,
not a minute more to waste.

In the tower at the top of the stairs,
was a beauty beyond compare.

On her lips he laid a kiss,
he hoped would lead to wedded bliss.

Then she opened up her eyes,
they sparkled like the starry skies.

From her cheek he wiped the tear.
The love between them was now clear.

Now their wedding bells are pending.
They both achieved their happy ending.
