Cyber-Bullying

Cyber-Bullying

Click on the image and it will take you to a site to get help with this issue. I was going to post something else this morning but this made me very angry. What sort of world do we live in people think this is ok. My heart goes out to this family. Somehow i think some people think again if you can’t see the person they are not real. The person on the other end of the computer is just as real as you and they have feelings too.

Cyber Bullying

A teenager died today,
because of words that were displayed.
Ask.Fm is the site
Anonymous posts can’t be right

Cyber Bullying the evil trolls.
They hurt her feelings and made her fall
A beautiful teenager with her life ahead,
because of their words she now is dead

A shy girl wanting affirmation
but what she got was confrontation
Evil comments nasty posts
All anonymous off course

She was found in her room by her dad
These bullies make me really mad.
A faceless bully you can’t confront
Why do they have to be so blunt

If they had to leave their name
would they play their silly games.
All to easy when you can’t be seen,
to act so nasty and be so mean.

Note to bullies:-This is real,
if it was your family how would you feel.
For someone to rip them to the core
That they could not face this world any-more.

If you have nothing nice to say,
ignore the post..go on your way
Do not make a nasty comment
Then go anonymous…..you make me vomit.

That sites a magnet for the trolls
I hope its shut down
That’s her family’s goal.

It really is such an act of cowardice. All bullying is horrible, but anonymous bullying is particularly despicable in that it draws out the bully in people who would never normally have the guts to bully in person but feel safe to do so because of the anonymity. Your poem strikes deeply into the heart of the evil that this type of bullying presents. Very powerful.

Thanks Cubby it’s all over the news today a 14 year old girl took her life because of this and some of the comments they left her were disgusting these sites should be monitored in some way.

  2. This is such an important issue which needs to be more widely recognised and remedied.

  3. Paolo Mateo says:

I never thought I would be so concerned. I shouldn’t have had to experience this to understand.

You poetic tongue is righteously acerbic, Jerri. If only these words could reach the guilty parties, make it possible for them to feel their victims’ pain.

I think you should treat everyone like you would like to be treated. As you know i have said in the past your only responsible for your own actions. You can not change what they said but you can change how you react to it. When people try to bring you down it’s usually because they see you in some way above them. The problem is with the bullies not the victims. You just keep being you and you will be just fine x

Well said by the poem and all comments

very poignant and too often cyber bullying goes ignored as people fail to see the reality and damage it does. Good point well raised. But i think, it is also worth mentioning and highlighting the part mental health played in this, as ask.fm traced the ip addresses and found that she had infact been sending herself the anonymous messages as well. A cyber self harm and abuse if you like….which is also incredibly sad, and shows the devastating effects of mental health and self destruction. It isnt pleasant to have such low self worth, which wasnt helped by the other cowardly people sending anonymous abuse.
Again, very well written and a point that needs more attention and taken more seriously to prevent more stories like this.

Thank you i really appreciate your feedback. I didn’t know about them tracing the ip address thank you for bringing it to my attention. this was wrote on the day the news broke so i only used the facts i had.

You’re welcome.. It was a great write and even with the knowledge of the ip tracing, is still a very pertinent and emotive piece. Really enjoy pieces that are relevant and carry a message.
